Youngtimer Trophy

King-Size Jamboree

This year it is time for the 16th season of the ADAC Youngtimer Trophy. This series features an impressing amount of cars constructed between 1966-1988 and will appear for the 13th time at the support program at the 34. ADAC Zurich 24h-race. The Chevy Egons 500 is dedicated to Egon Meurer, who was a pioneer of the Youngtimer Trophy.

Fun and Fair Play in the foreground
The ADAC Youngtimer Trophy affords a big scope to clamour. In the regulation it is said, "Dogged, exaggerated ambitions are unwanted". Fun, Fair Play and respect to the beautiful and often valuable cars should be in the foreground. Likewise social life is deemed to be very important inside the Youngtimer community.

The community is increasing
The name „Youngtimer" was created by Egon Meurer and Hans Schnock in 1993 when they made their idea of a younger historical motor sports series come true. The series includes cars constructed from 1966 until 1989. The number of fans is increasing permanently: 1993 the series started with just 35 competitors. Four years later 200 cars took part in the circuits. 2004 over 210 participants started at the "Egons 500". Meanwhile the series has been enlarged and the series is divided into four categories: cars manufactured between 1966 and 1971, between 1972 and 1975, between 1976 and 1981 and at least between 1982 and 1988.

The Trophy consists of a number of various types of events: Rallye, endurance, circuit (race track) and slalom. The different types of races and racing cars guarantee a maximum joy for drivers and spectators.

The ADAC Youngtimer Trophy will take place at Friday, the 16th of June from 2 to 6pm on the Nordschleife.
