MINI Challenge

The MINI Challenge contested its first race in 2004 and ever since became an inherent part of supporting programme at motor sports events. The main criteria for winning a race in the MINI challenge is the driving skill, because the cars are technically the same - this factor assures great fights and exciting racing scenes at the Nordschleife. The MINI S racer is a car, that is in accordance with tradition (MINI finished first at the Monte Carlo Rallye in 1964, `65 and `67) an amazing racer.

Not a normal event
But the MINI Challenge is not just a normal motor sports event. It is deemed to be a lifestyle event with many celebrities like Christian Danner, Axel Stein and Cora Schumacher at the wheel. The race within the supporting programme of the 34th ADAC Zurich 24h-race is one of three season races, that will take place on the Nordschleife, but it is the one, that demands a great deal of the drivers, because the racetrack will be the Nordschleife and not only the Grand Prix leg, which is more than 15 km longer.

Not a normal car
The MINI S is upgraded by a John Cooper Works Tuning Kit and now has 210 hp its top speed is added up to 230km/h. In order to guarantee highest possible balance, the drivers that succeeded in the last race must put an additional weight in their cars. As a driver you can get points in the overall standings, but also in the extra evaluations for Ladies and Gentlemen aged 50 and more. The benefit of the season averages about 340.000€ plus three additional MINIs.

The MINI Challenge race will occur corporately with the ADAC Procar Series
on Saturday, 17th of June and will definitely be a highlight in between the supporting programme.
